Your Story Matters

Every person carries a story. Some stories are filled with joy, while others are marked by pain, trauma, and silent suffering. Yet in our society, healthcare systems and even within Christianity at times, those with stories of anxiety, depression, or fear are often treated as if they are broken beyond repair. Too often, instead of being heard and healed, people are labeled, misunderstood, and handed medication that suppresses symptoms rather than addressing the root cause.

The Cost of Suppression

When we only mask our pain, we create toxic stress that builds up in the body. Over time, this stress damages the brain, weakens cognition, and leaves every system in the body vulnerable. Eventually, it affects how we think, feel, and make decisions—because we are operating through the lens of our trauma rather than from a place of healing.

Mental struggles are not the same as physical illnesses like cancer, yet they are often treated the same way. When trauma is only suppressed, it can even alter DNA and open the door for physical sickness.

I am not a doctor, therapist, or psychologist. What I share comes from experience, study, and revelation from God. If you haven’t read Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess by Dr. Caroline Leaf, I recommend it. She provides scientific evidence of how healthcare and society have conditioned us to believe that a pill is the solution—when in reality, this approach may cut our lifespans short.

The Spiritual Side of Mental Struggles

People sometimes tell me, “Not everything is a demon.” They’re right—but some things are. When I speak about anxiety, depression, fear, and panic, I speak from lived experience. I can confidently say that much of what I endured was spiritual oppression.

The enemy uses trauma to keep us bound, hidden, and robbed of our true identity in Christ. The Bible makes it clear: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). If he can trap you in fear and depression, he can keep you from stepping fully into your calling.

Your story was never God’s punishment. Trauma often enters through generational curses, sins in the bloodline, or personal wounds. But God has called us to be curse breakers. Romans 8:37 reminds us: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

When we break the legal rights of anxiety, fear, depression, and panic over our lives—through prayer, deliverance, and God’s Word—healing flows not just to our spirit, but also to our body and mind.

A Voice Confirming the Truth

If you want a deeper look at this reality, I encourage you to explore Unmasked: Demons Lurking Behind Psychological Symptoms by Rita Cabezas. This Christian psychologist spent 52 years in practice and, through God’s leading, discovered that many so-called psychological disorders were actually spiritual in nature. Her book (recently translated into English) opened my eyes and confirmed what I had always suspected: behind much of what the world calls “mental illness” is a demonic agenda to keep God’s people bound.

I See You—and a Better You

I want to be clear: I don’t take mental struggles lightly. I know what it feels like to be buried in deep depression and crippled by anxiety. I see you. I hear you. And I also see a better version of you, the version God created.

A life where your relationship with Christ is stronger.
A life where you can pursue your calling without fear holding you back.
A life where you feel free, whole, and able to walk boldly in your God-given purpose.

God doesn’t want you stuck in cycles of fear and depression. In Luke 19:13, Jesus commands us to “Occupy till I come,” to do the work of the Kingdom while there’s still time. We are seeing revival like never before: baptisms, deliverances, and people hungry for God. This is the moment to rise up and say, “I am done living this way. I want freedom. I want Jesus.”

Your story is not meant to stay hidden. It is your testimony, and it carries the power to help someone else overcome. Revelation 12:11 declares: “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
