Experiencing the Glory of God: The Fire, the Wind, and His Presence

Have you ever wondered what the glory of God truly is? It’s a term we hear often in sermons and songs, but few understand it beyond the words. This past weekend, I attended a Christian event featuring speakers connected with the TV program Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural!, and what I experienced there gave me a deeper revelation of what God’s glory really means.
The Glory of God Revealed Through His Presence
During worship, as we sang and praised the Lord, I began to sense His presence in a tangible way. Suddenly, I felt an intense warmth—what Scripture often calls the fire of God.
The Bible mentions this fire in Acts 2, during the Day of Pentecost, when tongues of fire rested upon the disciples. It also appeared to Moses in Exodus 3, when God revealed Himself through a burning bush that never burned up.
That same holy fire filled the room that night. Moments later, I felt a strong wind rush by me. It was as if someone had swiftly walked past, yet when I turned—no one was there. There were no fans or air conditioners nearby. This was the unmistakable movement of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus described this in John 3:8 (NIV):
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
The Holy Spirit often moves like the wind, powerful, invisible, and yet undeniably real.
The Weight of His Glory
As worship continued, I noticed that my legs felt heavy, almost as if they were weighted down. I knew this was the weight of God’s glory.
In Exodus 24:16-17, Scripture describes God’s glory resting on Mount Sinai:
“The glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days… The appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain.”
This “weighty presence” of God isn’t just symbolic, it’s real. Sometimes, when the glory of God fills a place, people experience physical manifestations: shaking, falling under His power, or feeling overwhelming peace.
For me, these moments are never frightening; they are sacred. There are moments when God touches the deepest parts of your spirit to heal, strengthen, and transform you.
Healing and Transformation in His Presence
Over the years, I’ve experienced deep healing through the presence and glory of God, healing from anxiety, fear, and insecurity. God’s glory doesn’t just reveal His majesty; it renews our hearts and minds.
When you feel His presence, He might give you courage, peace, or even new spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit still empowers believers today with gifts like speaking in tongues, discernment, wisdom, or creativity for Kingdom work.
The beautiful thing is, you don’t have to attend a special event to encounter God’s glory. You can experience His presence right where you are: in your living room, in your car, or during quiet prayer.
A Prayer for God’s Glory to Fill Your Life
Let’s pray together:
Father God,
We ask that every person reading this would experience a fresh touch of Your presence. Let the fire of Your Holy Spirit fill their hearts and renew their minds. Let them feel Your peace, Your power, and Your love in a real and tangible way.
In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen.
God’s glory isn’t reserved for the few—it’s for everyone who seeks Him. When you invite the Holy Spirit into your life, expect to encounter His presence in ways that transform you from the inside out.
